The above is our church slogan at Legacy Church. I hope it is more than just a nice slogan. I hope it is reality. I think it is most of the time. I do believe in value of relationships. I fail many times to live that value out, but I sincerely believe everything works best through relationships. I’m trying. For instance; I have been employed for more than 35 years. In those 35 years I have worked for a total of 6 employers. Everyone of those jobs came about through a relationship, not a resume. I had relationship with the people that hired me first.
God works through relationships.
Our relationships should matter. Can I ask you some relationship questions?
1. Has my faith made me love people more or less?
2. Are the people closest to me building me up or bring me down?
3. Do people enjoy being around me or am I often “down”?
4. Am I speaking well of others? (instead of gossiping)
5. Am I speaking transparently with at least two other close trusted friends on a weekly basis?
6. Are my words and relationships characterized by words of faith or negativity?
7. Am I looking outside my circle of friends to others that may need encouragement?
8. Am I cultivating my relationship with my spouse and children on a regular basis?
9. Am I submitting myself to the correction and coaching of at least two mentors?
10. Can my friends count on me to be with them in a crisis situation and do they know that?
Could you add anything to this list and any strike a bell for you?
